Diamanti whips in a cross which is cleared and that’s it! Final whistle. Milan 2 Bologna 1. Milan survive the final onslaught and hold out in a must win match.

90+3′ – Mexes heads clear, falling to Traore, he plays it out wide to El Shaarawy who runs at his man, cuts inside, and fires a ferocious, curling effort which just misses the far post, lovely technique from il Faraone.

90′ – We are now in extra time. No signal yet on how many minutes will be added

88′ – Abate delivers another cross, which is turned out for a corner. El Shaarawy jogs over to take. A great delivery finds Traore but he sends his header into orbit, poor effort from the former Nancy man.

84′ – BOLOGNA GOAL: It’s an OWN GOAL from Philippe Mexes. Milan’s lead is cut in half as Mexes finds the back of his own net, nervy finish set up in San Siro

82′ – MILAN GOAL: Cross from Boateng that Pazzini controls well before flicking it over the head of his defender and firing low on the volley. Beauty for Pazzini! 2-0 to Milan, 2 goals for Pazzini, who has come to life out of nowhere!

82′ – Substitution, Milan. Bakaye Traoré on, Mathieu Flamini off

67′ – Free kick for Bologna near the right sideline and Diamanti goes for goal wildly. There’s no doubting the Bologna midfielder’s talent, but he often displays that kind of poor judgement

65′ – MILAN GOAL: Pazzini, inside the 6, takes down the cross from Abate, ball bounces as he strikes, it deflects off the sprawled defender’s leg and loops over the sprawling goalie and into the back of the net. 1-0 to Milan!

56′ – Boateng makes a bit of space on the edge of the box but can’t force his shot through the wall of defenders

News from elsewhere as on loan Milan striker Alberto Paloschi has equalized for Chievo against Parma.

45′ – Boateng releases Abate with a terrific header, the right back finds Niang who again takes his man on, beats him, delivers low and the effort is flicked wide of the near post. The referee blows for half time as we sit as we started, Milan nil Bologna nil.

41′ – Pazzini has been really disappointing, especially when you consider he bagged a hat trick in the reverse fixture. Has not been very involved

38′ – Diamanti tries again from distance, this time hitting the target, but it’s an easy catch for Abbiati

30′ – Boateng commits a foul on Perez. Bologna can settle and build from the back

28′ – Milan have lost the ball a few times now, trying to reach the forwards from defense. Montolivo and Boateng will have to work harder to become available as Milan need better link up play through midfield

25′ – Boateng drives at Portonova, who makes a good tackle but concedes a corner. Taken by El Shaarawy who cannot find a teammate

24′ – Diamanti and Riverola threaten down Milan’s left hand side, but Mexes and El Shaarawy defend well and recover the ball for the Rossoneri. Mexes drives into Bologna’s half and finds El Shaarawy, switches to Abate, finds Pazzini who is taken down, no foul given

9′ – El Shaarawy takes the corner and finds Boateng, header blocked, Mexes turns and shoots, also blocked. Bologna try to break but Milan regain possession

8′ – Boateng finds Flamini over the top. The Frenchman dribbles to the endline and sees his cross blocked for a corner

5′ – A sloppy start, both teams trying to find their feet as the squads have been poor in possession
